Just fifteen kilometres north-east of Bergen, across the water in the municipality of Alver, lies the small community of Knarvik. This drive catches it at its very best: a Sunday morning in mid-March under spectacular, clear blue skies.
There's something special about driving a quiet place on a sunny weekend morning, and this film leans into it. With the low spring sun lighting up the scenery and almost no one on the roads, Knarvik shows its calm, small-community character — a relaxed local centre surrounded by the rolling, water-laced landscape so typical of the Bergen region. It's everyday Norway rather than a famous landmark, and that's exactly what makes it a pleasant, low-key watch.
Not every great drive needs a fjord or a hairpin — sometimes a sunny Sunday is enough. Press play to explore Knarvik from the car, and find more of my drives around Bergen on my channel.
