Odda sits at the very head of the Sørfjord, an arm of the great Hardangerfjord, and it punches well above its size. Officially a small industrial town, it's also one of the busiest crossroads in western Norway — a hub for traffic heading north and south, and a magnet for summer tourism.

The road to Trolltunga

Much of that tourism is down to one thing: Odda is the main access point for Trolltunga, the famous rock ledge that juts out high above Ringedalsvatnet and draws hikers from all over the world. But the town itself, framed by steep mountains and pristine fjord water, is a worthy stop in its own right. This drive takes in the setting — the industrial heritage along the waterfront, the dramatic backdrop of peaks, and the clean, clear landscape that gives the area its appeal.

There's more to Odda than a trailhead. Press play to drive through the town from the car, and explore more of my Hardanger drives on my channel.
