Not every great Norwegian drive is about towering fjords and dizzying hairpins. Some of the most restful are exactly like this one — a quiet summer roll through deep green woodland in the inland heart of southern Norway, around Rauland in Telemark.
Recorded in the full green of the season, the drive is wrapped in forest almost the whole way: tall trees crowding the roadside, dappled light through the canopy, glimpses of water and clearings, and very little traffic to break the spell. It's the kind of scenery that doesn't shout for attention but slowly settles you — ideal as easy background viewing or a calm escape from a grey day.
This is the gentler, greener side of Norway, the country between the postcard landmarks. Press play to wander the woods from the driver's seat, and explore more of my relaxed Norwegian drives on my channel.
